This series of images – shot at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto – was inspired by Brittney’s hairstyle, which is a “celebration of Black/African hairstyling”. Brittney’s stylist “used a traditional Nigerian method to curl [her] hair”, and the outfit was “inspired by the hairstyle”. Brittney wanted her outfit – reminiscent of 70’s era fashion – to be” just as eye-catching as the hair, while still allowing the hair [and its bold] personality to [come through]”.
