Coco Chanel has taught us all that it is essential to own a Little Black Dress. However, it may be not so little or it might be printed and paired with pants. Read on to find out how StyleCircle members Meg and Tori style their LBDs.

Meg

“Styling a little black dress? No problem, I own about six. My current favourite is a $5 thrifted piece that vaguely resembles something Reformation would have made in 2002. Albeit its wrinkle-free fabric and crisp lapels, it is not a dress I could wear to Nan’s house for Christmas Eve dinner. My solution: add pants. I am a big fan of dresses and pants. I think it’s my inner Man Repeller that forces me to deviate from the ultra-feminine style I can never achieve. But honestly, pairing a short dress with pants is a super comfortable way to cl@$$ up your look and keep relatives from side-eyeing your flashes of cat print undies when you get up for seconds. Plus, if you need to show off your cheerleading skills (re: me), pants make that not only possible, but somehow graceful. Win win.”

“I live for black dresses. They’re classy and very versatile which is key. You can dress them up or down by throwing on heels for a fancier look or a denim jacket for more of a casual style. I love wearing non-printed clothing, so I usually spice it up with a statement necklace like I did here. This outfit is suitable for a night out with friends or a holiday dinner.”
