It’s the final day of the holiday guide, and we have kept the best for last.
When planning a wintertime excursion, many of us turn to the Toronto Christmas Market. But that scene gets old real quick. Tired of the huge crowds and overpriced grilled cheese sandwiches? Ya, me too. So I went in search of a new holiday adventure that would satisfy my craving of beautiful brick buildings and artisanal hot chocolate.
The Evergreen Brick Works – which if you have not been is a very cute, rustic escape from the downtown hustle – offers the perfect wintery outing at their curated Winter Village. Only a 30 minute WALK from the Ryerson campus, the Brick Works Winter Village is a FREE event that has all means of photo-worthy food and fun. The best part is that these festivities are on until the end of February- so there is plenty of time to celebrate the hibernal season post-holiday chaos.
Stay snug & cozy by wood-burning bonfires.
Skate beneath an open sky.
Grab a bite or a sip (or 3) near heat lamps and wooden tables.
Enjoy the grounds and the open sky- sans skyscrapers.
