A project that had you on a shopping binge at the dollar store and playing around with glue like never before, lo and behold, the pastel collage, in the flesh (excuse the pun.)
Assigned early in February, the pastel collage aims to teach students to manipulate different shades of chalk pastels to render accurate flesh tones, reflect light tones and highlights and emulate a realistic appearance. Furthermore, the collage seeks to familiarize students with less than ordinary materials to convey the image including items as normal as tin foil to items as strange as lentils and cardamon.
