#TFW: SID NEIGUM F/W16

Recap of Sid Neigum's presentation that closed out Day 1 at Toronto Fashion Week F/W16.

There couldn’t have been a better way to end Day 1 at Toronto Fashion Week than with Sid Neigum. This conceptual mastermind never ceases to amaze his audience. His intricate combination of mathematical cuts, modular origami and exquisitely textured fabrics always create a vast collection of interest and deserved hype. Once again Neigum’s maximal and minimal style caused the crowd of fashion week attendees to pause in awe.

In contrast to what was expected, the show was a presentation rather than a runway production. Eager fashion lovers entered the space becoming immediately drawn to the deep house beats accompanying an artistically expressive promotional film. There were an exclusive six models  regally poised on stands each wearing an elaborate midi-length piece. The vibe was eclectic mixed with an underground dark rave feel causing a buzz within everyone present in the room._MG_7250 (1)

The pieces were a collection of majestic coats, skirts, dresses and a pantsuit. Each piece had such an organic texture making it feel spatial. The colours ranged from earthy crisp golds to camel and a range of blacks. Every design had a magnificent, unique shape that strongly reflected Neigum’s conceptual style. Wraps, layers and experimental necklines definitely establish the feel of Neigum’s Fall/Winter vision this year and we are all onboard!
