WMCFW: Zoran Dobric S/S 2016

Once again, Zoran Dobric’s ability to blend dimensions of art, fashion, and culture is revealed in his S/S16 Collection. With tracks such as Róisín Murphy’s “Parallel Lives” filling the room and setting the musical fabric for the strutting models, the eyes were left with nothing but pure visual magic! Keeping the makeup on the models minimal with the exception of strong brows, Dobric pulled our attention straight to the garments. Intricate cut-outs following basic geometric patterns were a main focus in his collection. The models even sported avant-garde headpieces that mimicked the always popular floppy hat. The exception, however, was a clever cut-out at the crown. The slick-back hair of each model, with a low ponytail peaking out of the fashionable hats, added a surprising but delightful detail from the back.

Combinations of business casual, meander art, bold and funky patterns, and pops of metallic were just some of the multidimensional layers Dobric successfully experimented with in this collection. With black, white, and grey as statement colours, the designer has unmistakably proven that the warmer season can be adorned with cool and basic shades.
