WMCFW: Mackage S/S 2016

If there’s one thing to be said about Mackage it’s that they never disappoint.

There have only been a handful of times where I’ve wanted to purchase a collection in its entirety. This was one of them. Ever since I bought my first moto jacket back the 11th grade I’ve been a sucker for all things leather and Mackage takes leather to a whole other level.

Their collection is fun, refined, flirty, and edgy. Although they mostly stuck to a neutral colour scheme, some pieces really stuck out with pops of bright orange and blue. I have to say that my favourite ensemble was an aqua blue getup with a fringe skirt—coloured leather is the best leather.

I also can’t forget to mention the cut-out skirts, dresses, and jackets, as well as black and white squares that coyly exposed whatever was underneath. Definitely on my must-have list.

The menswear was no less impressive than the women’s. Leather shorts (and pants), black trench coats and some oh-so-dapper bomber jackets. Pairing up slacks with a leather-sleeved jacket is genius. Mackage-dressed gents are sure to be the town envy.

By the end of the collection I knew that my rainy day fund had finally found its objective.
